On POMP’s Afterlife – Brad Sucks, I discuss the concept of Old Media vs. New Media with my former Hate the Radio co-host Alan Lock. If you’d like to hear what that audio sounds like when it’s not edited by a tone deaf retard, you can listen to New Media in the Audio Player above, or head over to AmbushRadio.com for the download link, show notes, and other audio goodness.

If you follow me on Twitter, you shouldn’t. But if you do, you may have seen that POMP’s Afterlife – Brad Sucks has been out since November 22nd. Now that I’m no longer locked out of my blog, I can write some shitty show notes.

This week’s co-host is Alan Lock of AmbushRadio.com, and HatetheRadio.com. It features music, and a rather lengthy appearance by Mr. Brad Sucks, one of the coolest people I’ve ever had the opportunity to talk to. It’s awesome being in a position to speak with somebody you really admire, and Brad is definitely somebody.

This week’s show topic is Old Media vs. New Media, and how old media is getting their asses kicked thanks to  DLNA/UPnP media servers such as the Xbox 360 and the PS3, as well as online streaming services like Hulu, Joost, Netflix Watch Instantly, and the newly announced Sling.com beta. And that’s literally just to name a few. We delve into everything from bandwidth caps to American politics in this unusually long show. It’s 2 hours and 37 minutes, and it won’t offend me if you use your fast forward button, fall asleep to it, or lose your concentration during personal fornication.

I’m unhappy with the audio quality of this release, but I am working on it. The equipment is all in place, so it solely falls in the hands of the producer. Unfortunately, I’m the producer. I have one more Skype show to release, then *hopefully* there should be a significant increase in audio quality.

I’m just trying to make sense of all this strife … Welcome to My Afterlife.

Hate the Radio – Good Year

Hate the Radio - Good Year

Thirteen months and twenty-six days after “The Last Supper” was released, or exactly one year to the day I arrived in Houston — we have a brand new “annual update” for the few remaining people that still want to hear our voices. This is a nostalgic episode full of talk about our lives, and reminiscing about the old show. At nearly three hours long this is not a typical episode, but if you were a fan of Hate the Radio, I think you’ll dig it.

“Together again, but not really. The talkative three gather via Skype to discuss the past year’s events in each of their lives. Business as usual other than a bit more stability. It just so happens that at the time of recording all are quite happy with where their paths have taken them. Break and bumper music provided by Brad Sucks. Check out the new album release on September 8th.”
