Hate the SHOUTcast

Hateful ChristmasThis Tuesday I’m leaving for New York. I’ll be gone for two weeks, so there will be even less blogging going on, but I’ll try to Moblog some of my wacky adventures in Oswego, Syracuse, Utica, and possibly Manhattan and Rochester.

Big things might happen in Manhattan, but I’ll post more about that just as soon as I know more … If you live in any of these areas, and you would like to pay for our drugs and alcohol, let me know.

This week’s release of Hate the Radio has been delayed for unknown reasons. We had comedian Jim Florentine on, and I’ve been told it should be out very soon.

In the meantime, watch this video Al made called “Parking Miss Rosa.” It should help tide you over.

Last week I setup a SHOUTcast server that streams every episode of Hate the Radio we’ve ever released, in order … ad nauseam. You can find us in the SHOUTcast directory or click here to listen. Either right-click and save the .pls file or open it with Winamp.

If you use an inferior Operating System, iTunes and XMMS should also work. And if you’re a RealPlayer user, please Shut Down your computer and throw it away.

I’m still testing all of this, so right now I’m only allowing 32 simultaneous listeners. Eventually we may have multiple streams in various audio qualities.

Thanks to my 1337 computar machine skillz, all of our shows are also available on-demand. Which means no more downloading, for those of you that are too lazy to download a 27.4 megabyte file.

We’re also going to begin broadcasting live at some point, and taking live calls, but we might make a few of these new features available to “Member’s Only.” The rest of you can still listen to the podcast, which will always be free.

Here are the links to the on-demand streams:
