Way back in October of 2004, I published a post called “Voting Doesn’t Work” outlining my plans to make a full-length CD out of the many anti-war and anti-Bush songs that had come out in the past few years. Now let me make it clear that I am NOT anti-war or anti-Bush, I just thought it was a good idea for a CD at the time.

Anyway, one of the songs on the CD was Sunday Bloody Sunday, featuring George W. Bush on vox. Someone remixed a bunch of his speeches, and rearranged his words so that it sounds like he’s singing. So if you liked that song, you can download an entire CD worth of this shit from thepartyparty.com.

And while I’m on the subject of music, I’m going to see Moby in Boulder tonight. I’m not a big fan of Moby’s politics or his albums (and Boulder for that matter), but his live performances are great. So be on the lookout for Moblog pics of a short and skinny bald man – that are not me.

Here are a couple of news stories that caught my attention. This first one pisses me off, because today’s youth is too fucking stupid to appreciate things like this. But I thought my older readers should know what “daisy chaining” might mean to a kidiot.

“Growing numbers of teenagers are taking part in a new group sex craze known as daisy chaining, [British] nurses warned yesterday.” Yes, do go on: “The practice involves children having sex with several partners at parties.” … “As we understand it, it involves groups of older teenagers going round to each other’s homes and having sex in a similar way as swinging.”

This next one’s best read while listening to this fine song from Team America: World Police. Its title on Daily Rotten is “Dirka dirka dirka Denny’s dirka dirka.” I think if Denny’s made this a company-wide policy, I’d eat there more often:

“Seven men of Middle Eastern descent have sued a Denny’s restaurant in Florida City, claiming the restaurant refused to serve them.” … “According to the suit, [a server said to them], “We don’t serve Bin Laden’s here … You’re not welcome here anymore.” Two [police officers] eating at the Denny’s asked the seven men to leave the restaurant, and said they would arrest them if they didn’t.”

Two or Three of you may be wondering where the hell the Anti-Podcast is. Of course, judging from the lack of comments, it could be even less than that. I don’t understand how a site can average nearly 200 hits a day, and receive little to no feedback. But fuck it. I figure I owe at least a few of you an explanation.

Anyway, yesterday we got pretty fucking drunk. I started things off with 3 shots of Jack Daniels, and then I switched to Budweiser. At around 7 PM Eastern, Exit, RaYzor, and myself started recording our first official Anti-Podcast.

The show didn’t go as well as I had hoped, but we managed to record nearly two hours of material. This could have easily been edited down to an entertaining half an hour or so. As promised, we had an interesting tech debate, followed by our usual inane banter, and some chatter about movies, music, pr0n, etc…

The show wrapped up around 9 o’clock. And when I went to save the .ELP file in HotRecorder, my server promptly crashed and shut down. Needless to say, that show is gone forever. I’ve been having a lot of problems with that system lately. The clock is always several minutes off, and when I do anything remotely CPU intensive, the BIOS alarm sounds and it shuts down.

This computer has about nine fans in it and it’s dust free, so it can’t possibly be an overheating issue. But I RMA’ed the motherboard, and ordered a new CPU. So hopefully this problem will be resolved within the next couple of days.

RaYzor and I tried to record a second show, which lasted about an hour. This time using my laptop, and as soon as I went to save the .ELP file in HotRecorder, the program fucking crashed on me; resulting in the permanent loss of our second show.

If my server is not fully functional in time for our next Anti-Podcast, I’m going to install a Sound Blaster Live card in my work server, and use that for now.

The only good thing to come from this fucking disaster, was that we recorded what we thought were going to be two official podcasts, for use on this site, and neither one of them were as good as we were hoping for. So they ended up being very good practice, for what will hopefully be a better show next time.

OK, so it’s looking like our first show will be Tuesday night (4/26) at around 7 PM Eastern. If you would like to participate, contact me using any of the “INTERACT” info in the sidebar. We will be taking questions and comments about the topic of your choice.

For our debut show, I hope to cover some Tech, Current Events, Music, Movies, Television, Gaming, Pr0n, and whatever else enters our inebriated minds. If all goes well, I will post it here (in MP3 format) as soon as we’re finished. A proper RSS feed will follow.
