The Wired CD: Rip. Sample. Mash. Share.
October 31st, 2004 by POMP
I just picked up the November issue of Wired Magazine. The one with the “Sample the Future” cover story and the Beastie Boys, “The Remix Masters” feature.
This issue also includes a copy of The Wired CD, “a collection of 16 songs produced under the Creative Commons License.”
The musicians on this CD are saying that true creativity needs to be open, fluid, and alive, and they are encouraging you to, “Rip, mix, burn. Swap till you drop. The music cops can’t do a thing – it’s 100 percent legal, licensed by the bands.”
So, with the “swap till you drop” part in mind, “here are 16 songs that encourage people to play with their tunes, not just play them.”
